Tokai Forest Home
The design approach for this remarkable home was to complement its unique architectural elements and the client’s love for natural materials.
Bordering the vast Tokai forest and offering breathtaking mountain views and an abundance of natural light, the home provided an endless supply of inspiration in terms of breathtaking beauty.
Designed as a contemporary farmhouse, the home consists of a collection of strategically placed buildings, interconnected to maximise views while ensuring privacy and protection from the elements. This fragmentation allowed each space to develop its own distinct identity while remaining cohesive through a carefully curated palette of natural materials, colors, and textures.
Sustainability was at the heart of the client’s brief. Furniture and styling elements were chosen with longevity in mind—clean, simple profiles that stand the test of time. The result is a thoughtful blend of modern, vintage, and antique pieces, punctuated by the client’s extensive and deeply personal art collection.
